the Help.

i loved this book.
and am super excited to see the movie now.
it just blows my mind first of all that there even is such a thing as racism.
and secondly, that it is still around.
ok, and thirdly, that segregation wasn't that long ago.
as i was reading this book i had to keep reminding myself that this was pretty recent.
that people had black maids to raise their children, do their laundry, and cook their food.
but then they wouldn't let them us the restroom in their home.
blows my mind.
if you haven't already...read this book.
it's pretty great.
thought i will say...i was hoping for a little more in the end.
you know me...i don't like to assume.
i want to be told that everyone is ok and that things are peachy.
i always like it in movies when they skip forward a few years and show us a glimpse of what happens.
i was hoping this book would do that.
it didn't.
oh well!

I loved this book, too. Excited for the movie, partly cuz I'm hoping they do show us a little more at the end!

the movie is actually pretty good too! I couldn't believe what a good job they did turning the book into a movie, and Emma Stone and the ladies who played the Help did awesome too. Oh and what's her name, the awful woman that leads them all...I can't remember, anyway she is pretty good in the movie too. hope you get to see it soon, i know you'll love it. too bad we aren't seeing it together!
